Introducing a new bilingual edition of the exquisite picture book biography of Pablo Neruda, one of the world’s most cherished and beloved poets, written by acclaimed author Monica Brown.

Once upon a time, there was a young boy named Neftalí who was passionate about wild things and serene things alike. From the moment he learned to talk, he was enamored with words, and Neftalí discovered the wonder hidden within the pages of books.

At the age of sixteen, this boy began publishing poetry under the name of Pablo Neruda. Pablo wrote about things that he loved, which included creations made by his artist friends, items discovered at the market, and facets of nature that he observed. He wrote about the people of Chile, and their struggles for a better life. But beyond all else, Pablo Neruda loved everyday people.

This new edition of the book features a beautiful translation of Monica Brown’s poetic text and the stunning artwork of Julia Paschkis, which celebrates the beauty of speaking multiple languages. It is the perfect choice to introduce younger readers, be they English, Spanish, or both, to the legacy of one of history’s greatest poets.
